Overview

What began as a simple office addition transformed into a full remodel of this Whidbey Island beach cabin. Eric preserved the cabin’s existing rooflines while updating siding, windows, and roofing to achieve a seamless blend of old and new. Durable materials, such as steel, glass, and composite panels, create a space that balances cozy family living with low maintenance and expansive beach views. The design includes bunkbeds, hidden nooks for kids, an outdoor shower, and open spaces. It is a a fun, light-filled retreat for family and friends.

The large stacking slider doors stretch the living space to the beach.

The glass pivot door welcomes guests while drawing them to the beach.

Exposed steel beams and railings are an element throughout the cabin. Combining their use as a structural element and aesthetic detail.

We tried to find the balance between wood, steel, and glass, but in the end it is just hard to take your eyes off the view.
