Basement Transformation
A concrete basement workshop was transformed into a vibrant and functional man cave. Inspired by the owners British flag refrigerator, the design incorporates bold colors, brick tile, barn doors, and exposed beams to highlight the structure. The space was opened to connect seamlessly with the backyard.
This before shot shows the necessity to cover the existing beam, prompted the addition of extra exposed beam work, which also helped give texture to the space.
I was worried the brick tile might look contrived… but once installed, it looks appropriate and adds to the sophisticated, yet playful atmosphere.
The clean black and white Bathroom is a dramatically departure from the color and mix of materials in the rest of the space, yet does not feel out of place.
